» ADVISORS
Tim Kastelle is a Lecturer in Innovation Management at the University of Queensland Business School. After graduating from Princeton University with a degree in economics, he worked for twelve years in senior positions in a variety of industries including radio, office equipment, industrial chemicals, higher education and software. Tim developed a curiousity about the role of innovation in firm growth while working, which led to an interest in further study. He recently completed an MBA (Advanced) in the UQ Business School, after which he immediately began a PhD.
Tim's research interest is in applying evolutionary economics to the management of firms. He is investigating the implications of viewing the economy and firms as complex evolving systems, in particular through the development of analytical tools based on complex network analysis. The topic of his PhD is Analysing the Evolution of International Trade: A Complex Networks Approach, and the work in it has applications in innovation studies, strategic management and evolutionary economics. He is an Associate Editor of the journal Innovation: Management, Policy and Practice. |
